( click here for latest availability ). at all other times, we accept short stay bookings either when only part of a week is available, or when the booking is less than one month away. we ask for a deposit by cheque of £100, and the balance of the payment six weeks before your arrival. directions view larger map directions to the old workshop, wilderley croft, pulverbatch, shrewsbury sy5 8df os grid reference: sj 439 013 phone: 01694 751775 / 07919 658029 please note that sat nav will take you to the right area but not the correct house. from the a5, near shrewsbury: turn south onto the a49 towards leominster and ludlow. go through bayston hill, and after about 3 miles you come into dorrington village. turn right in dorrington, signposted to the church and picklescott. follow this road out of the village; after a couple of miles you will come to a junction signposted to wilderley and pulverbatch. turn right here. follow this road, then turn right at the junction you come to after about 300 metres, and after another 300 metres you will pass coppice farm on your left. continue for another 500 metres and you will see a barn very close to the road on the left. the entrance to wilderley croft and the old workshop is 50 metres after the barn, on the left. if you come to another junction signposted to pease lane and pulverbatch, you have gone a bit too far! from the longden road, heading south from shrewsbury towards bishops castle: follow the longden road southwards, past the nuffield hospital, and through the villages of hook-a-gate, annscroft, longden, longden common and then pulverbatch (ignoring signs to church pulverbatch). as you come out of pulverbatch, you will drop down a hill. at the bottom of the hill, turn left signposted towards wilderley and picklescott. stay on this lane, and keep following signs to picklescott. follow the lane for about a mile, going through a dairy farm – wilderley hall farm. shortly afterwards, you will come to a fork in the road. keep right, still following signs to picklescott. at the junction with pease lane, follow your lane round to the left, still following signs to picklescott. the entrance to wilderley croft and the old workshop is the first gate on the right. from the a49 church stretton, heading north towards shrewsbury: please note: this is a stunning route, but the gradients are steep and the lanes are extremely narrow; although it’s the most direct route from the south, it is quicker if you stay on the a49 until you reach dorrington, and then follow the directions above. turn off the a49 at the traffic lights, into church stretton. drive up the main street and when you come to the t-junction (by lloyds bank), turn right onto shrewsbury road. continue through all stretton, going past the school on the right and then the yew tree pub on the left. take the next turning left, by the telephone box, onto castle hill and follow the lane up the hill and over the two cattle grids. continue on the lane, and at the crossroads go straight across – you will go through the hamlet of betchcott and end up in the picturesque village of picklescott. at the end of the lane, in picklescott, turn right and then immediately left onto pease (‘pays’) lane, passing the bottle and glass pub on your right. keep following pease lane for almost 1½ miles, and at the end of the lane turn right, following signs to dorrington (and picklescott, rather confusingly). the entrance to wilderley croft and the old workshop is the first gate on the right. please use the grid reference (sj 439 013) rather than the postcode if you are relying on satellite navigation. if you would like help in getting here from another direction, please contact us. contact: nicola strudwick, wilderley croft, pulverbatch, shrewsbury, sy5 8df, phone: 01694 751775 / 07919 658029 , email: [email protected] ')
